How long does a knitting commission typically take to realise?

Commissions typically take between 3-8 weeks to hand knit and 8-16 weeks to manufacture to complete, depending on requirements. Once a pattern and fabric have been chosen a hand / domestic machine knit jumper takes between 40-60 hours of knitting.

How much will a knitting commission cost?

Both hand-knitting and manufacturing orders are based on the time and skills required.
Design – £25/hr
Samples (excl. materials) – £25-£75 each *

Hand-knitting production – £15/hr*

Manufacturing sampling and set up – £2K to £3K *

Manufacturing production – £25-£200 per item *

*depending on complexity, size, yarn, and techniques required
